Day at the Istana

Dear Readers,

Istana is the official residence of the President of Singapore. The Istana building was built by the British Colonial government to house its governors. Completed in 1869, it was then known as the Government House. The building was handed over to the Singapore Government when Singapore attained self government in 1959, and renamed Istana (“Palace” in Malay).

It had been a long weekend for us last week. Hence, the gates to the Istana was opened to the public. Having lived here for few years, this was my first visit.

I wore this lightweight chambray shirt dress on this day. I would say the dress is perfect for our weather, except the shoes I chose to wear (meaning walking in the grass is difficult with those heels). I kept this simple and didn't want to add much, just one of those days where I choose to be simple and understated.

Weekend prints

Dear Reader,

Dressing up on weekends is so much fun for me than weekdays. I love the relaxed feeling, no rush, no heels, and a mixture in what you wear from polka to leopard :-)

This was the attire that I wore when walking around the city, getting my hair cut, having an all day breakfast, checking out the flea markets, window shopping... all at a slow pace.

Neutral Palette

Dear Readers,

A classic wide leg trousers and a dark shade lip colour would be my all time favorites. What do you say? Keeping it all simple in this beige wide leg trousers and a silk top. You could call this a more neutral palette, and to add in colour I bring in my handbag and lip colour in full swing.

Under the weather

Dear Readers,

This weekend had been a bad one as I was feeling under the weather. The pictures would say it so. Therefore, I wore this pencil skirt and the light material top with bow details at the back. Simple yet the pop in colours and bows is what would be best to make me feel better.
