Weekender!

Last minute run to the tailors before two weddings this season is nerve recking, especially when you are getting your clothes stitched with them for the very first time. I will post the newly tailored outfits here (if it ever turns out good, wish me luck).

On a day such as this, I picked up some comfortable wear to head to the tailors and jazzed up a Saturday morning in my festive blings.

Traffic Lights!

After a long hiatus I am back again! I have been under the weather the last couple of days and now slowly I'm trying to get better and be in the holiday spirit. The weather out here is crazy, we have the sun during the day and as I get ready to go out and do a shoot for you guys, it gets gloomy and rains all of a sudden, and then I think of my favourite nursery song "out comes the sun and dry's up all the rain, the itsy bitsy blogger gets to shoot again," (hehe my own little variation of that little jingle). Some days you love this weather and just want to sit in your PJ's with a cup of hot chocolate and a good book, but some days it gets realllly irritating because I can't do my favourite thing, Dress up !!!!!.

This is just one of those days for me.

Thanksgiving!

This year my husband & I hosted our first Thanksgiving dinner at our place for our close family and friends. We kept our menu simple with a home-cooked meal by me, my in-laws and my husband. I am indeed thankful to each one of them and my friends who are a blessing in my life. It was a beautiful evening spent with each one of them and not sure if my sangria had something to do with the ladies going crazy while doing the group shots.

Must love Sweatshirts!

Wearing a sweatshirt in the little red dot could cause a heatstroke, since we don't get to enjoy the change in seasons(bummer :(..). Thank God for the constant heavy showers that allows me to wear light sweaters or even sweatshirts like this for a cozy evening out with friends and family.

...let the festivities begin!!!

Happy Diwali to all My Beautiful Readers!!!

How did you all celebrate Diwali this year? In this red dot we had our Diwali on Saturday. My husband & I celebrated Diwali with our closest friends we ended up having a scrumptious indian dinner on Saturday and on Sunday we were at our friends parents home for a delicious home-cooked dinner. It was a beautiful and at the same time a busy weekend. Thats why my post is a bit late.

When it comes to Indian festivals and weddings, we all do take a huge effort to dress up in our ethnic outfits. I reserve my ethnic pieces for such occasions, my closet has pieces that are fresh from the tailors that I save for just these special occasions. One such piece is this Anarkali top that I am wearing as a dress. I didn't wear the full set here since I'm going to be using it for a wedding in December. I have two weddings in December (which I am so excited about) and I have decided to maximize my outfits and not buy anything new. I paired this Anarkali with my Indian accessories that I had purchased at the diwali bazaar a few days ago and my ZARA gold shoes.

I hope to share with you another indian inspired outfit in my next post.

Thank you to all who continues to read, like and drop me messages on my blog it is a true motivator.

Island Life!

I am back people!!! Which means I am ready to posts few pictures from my recent trip. To answer all your questions I thought I would post the questions in here and give you my answers.

1. Where did I go?

- We headed to an island in The Bahamas called Freeport. This place is where my husband grew up and worked before he met me in Singapore. Three years ago we were married in this island, hence this place is very special to us and not to forget all our family & friends who makes this island more like a HOME. They say "Its always better in the Bahamas".

2. What I packed?

- Our trip was for two weeks and we were also going to do a road trip from Florida to NYC which means change in weather from Summer to Fall. I packed my basic essentials and light fabrics. I did this because I knew I will be shopping in the US and plus we had a lot of traveling so just wanted it to be easy for us.

3. Who I travelled with?

- My husband and my in-laws. My Father-in-Law loves long drives, we were all excited for this trip, especially me since it is my very first trip with them and I loved it. I would say my in-laws are real fun to be with :)

4. Did I carry my camera?

- I did carry my DSLR and didn't bring my charger. To save my battery I reserved my camera for blog pictures and roamed around the island and city taking pictures from my iPhone. I will share the pictures with you for sure.

5. How was the weather in Bahamas?

- It was a lot of sun and rained few times.

6. What I loved about the Bahamas?

- The Food my favorite being fried fish and lobster, The Beautiful Turquoise beaches and the People that passersby that never fails to greet you anywhere you go.

Basking in the sun!

I am in The Bahamas, where my husband grew up. So the blogposts are going to be a bit slow as I am busy basking in the sun, soaking in the beautiful turquoise water and breathing in the island life.

The Smiley Face!

I know its been a week since I've been back from Perth but I just can't get it out of my system. Now I have a special place to bring to my readers the Perth Upmarket, I did mention it in a previous post telling you guys to check it out if ever you visit Western Australia. So here is one of the many reasons why you shouldn't miss this special place.

When I started strolling around this market I stopped myself at this stall that had the cutest of tees with different designs for women, men, kids and babies. I couldn't help but stop by as the T-shirts were pulling me like some sort of magnet. The price was not too shabby either (AUD 30 and 10% of all profits goes to The Centre for Cerebral Palsy in Western Australia).

But the real specialty about these tees are that they are designed by a handsome young man named Daniel Pavlovic who is at the front of his stall and greets you with a big smile. It was so amazing to see his skills and with the challenges he faces on a daily basis there was still that big smile on his face which made me come back to his stall and buy this tee. Read out more about him and his team here: http://danielink.com.au

This city, the people, the weather just inspires me everyday I look at my wardrobe and instantly, a smiley face and a Happy me.

Double Dosage!

Mixing prints has been a huge trend for a while and is here to stay. This style could be very tricky to pull of at times, but the whole idea is to have fun and be adventurous. My secret to this trend is to have the colors (lots of them) and prints from the same family and keep your accessories simple.

As my favorite fashionista once said: “Over the years I have learned that what is important in a dress is the woman who is wearing it.”
