West meets East Uphill!

DSC02983 DSC03038 DSC02991 DSC03016>

In the middle of Singapore's hustle and bustle lies alleys uphill rich in history and buildings featuring Chinese baroque architecture.

Emerald Hill is one such neighbourhood and a conservation area located in a hidden alley along Orchard road. Early mornings this area is filled with nomadic tourists or photographers capturing the essence of this place and as the sun sets you are in for a ride with the many pubs that was converted from the heritage buildings.

This place is one of my favourite casual hangout for a good row of drinks, while embracing the raw architecture.

Wrapping up!

After a long hiatus, I am back in action bringing the summer heat of Singapore.

The weather here is crazy hot and it gets impossible to shoot during the daytime. In weather like this, the key pieces that keeps me surviving are wraps and maxi dresses. I've been scouting Forever 21 and ZARA for pieces that would help me survive this 32 degree heat.

Clash of the Casuals!

Working under pressure is what works best for me. Remember those school day projects given to you during your summer/winter holidays? Before the break begins you are so motivated to have it completed on time to avoid last minute stress and the burning of the mid-night oil.You prepare yourself a time table for your work and just a bit of play time but, somehow that timetable just goes out the window. Closer towards the end of your holidays you get stressed, worrying your grandparents, running to your friends place for ideas or shared work and even standing by the photocopy machine and killing the environment printing copies from the Encyclopaedia (talking about the 90's).

I am one of them to be honest, since school days nothing has changed about me. One thing I assure you is there is still the quality factor that doesn't go a miss.

This is shown in my outfit here on a casual night out with friends. I had picked these pants in India about a year ago. It had never seen the light of day since I bought them. On this night out with friends required me to play it casual as I wasn't in a mood for heels.

In the midst of my thoughts keeping staple pieces always comes in handy for last minute pairings. My closet space consists of more statement skirts and trousers. I tend to buy blouses in more neutral tones so that makes it easier to pair with these bottoms and makes it more hassle and stress free.

Fuss Free!

The older I get the less fuss I want to make over my clothes. I like keeping things comfortable, multiple-wears, unique and yet fashionable. Cue my love for Jumpsuits! They offer the best of everything that I mentioned above, and could be worn from a date nights to a gala wedding.

A Vibrant Mish Mash!

This is my first fashion blogpost for the year. This blogger had been missing her photographer (my husband) for the past few months and why the short hiatus from blogging. Now that he is back and plus the long weekend due to the Lunar New Year, I am enjoying our time lost that includes New Years and Valentines day.

We spent one of the days of the lunar new year at the Botanical Gardens with friends having a little picnic with wine, a little couscous salad and my home made cinnamon rolls . It was my first picnic in the lion city, and on that humid day all I could wear is a vibrant one piece suit that could take you from lunch at the gardens to dinner indoors.
